Biography
Martain Dagnelie is a Ph.D. candidate on SRP funding at the Interuniversity Institute of Bioinformatics in Brussels under the co-supervision of Prof. Sophie de Buyl, Prof. Wim Vranken and Prof. Eveline Peeters.
Martain graduated summa cum laude with a Master in Bioscience Engineering from the Université Libre de Bruxelles in 2023.
His current research focuses on designing synthetic regulatory circuits using biosensors in bacterial cell factories.
To do so, he develops mechanistic models of interesting metabolic pathways in the well-known host E. coli and applies optimization methods to identify promising circuits and biosensor characteristics.
